Welcome Student Mentee!
The Peter T. Paul College of Business and Economics has sponsored this program since 2016, and past mentees have benefited greatly from the professional connections they have built with their mentors over the two-year Financial Partners Program.
Junior, Year 1 – First Mentor Assigned
Senior, Year 2 – Second Mentor Assigned
Responsibilities
Once selected to be in the Financial Partners Program, students sign a contract agreeing to the responsibilities associated with participating in the program.
Students will initiate contact with their assigned mentor during the Spring/Summer after starting the program, to set up a schedule to meet during each academic year.
The Peter T. Paul College Financial Policy Center directors, Mihail Miletkov, Michael Hanlon and Steve Ciccone will oversee student involvement and activity.
Meetings & Documentation
Meetings with your mentor may take place at a restaurant, on campus, at their office or virtually. You should have at least two scheduled meetings a year with your mentor.
Students are encouraged to be prepared with meaningful questions and be ‘prepped and polished’ to attend business meetings and meals with their mentor
Document your meetings for yourself and your mentor. Email your mentor and Pat with a summary including:
- Date & location of meeting
- Topics discussed and your reflections
- Follow-up/Action steps for mentor and student to take, if any
- Next meeting date or touchpoint
Reimbursement Procedure - If you incur meal or travel expenses when meeting with your mentor, fill out the Non-Employee Travel Reimbursement Form in Excel format and include original, legible receipt(s), which include the establishment name, date, itemized expense(s), and method of payment (alcohol purchases cannot be reimbursed).
When completed, submit these the form and receipts to the Financial Partners Program Manager, Pat McCabe and copy Pam Mullavey@unh.edu. Be sure to maintain a copy of your receipts for your own records as well.
