Dr. Jim Wible is Professor of Economics in the Department of Economics in Paul College of Business and Economics at the University of New Hampshire. He has served as Interim Dean and Associate Dean and as Department Chair, graduate coordinator, and seminar organizer in the economics department. He has served for many years on Paul College’s Policy and Procedures Committee and the Vice Provost’s Responsible Conduct of Research Committee. He was a founding member of the weekly economics research seminar still meeting in its fourth decade. His research has resulted in 37 refereed articles and book chapters, 9 article-length book reviews, two books, and a co-edited journal issue on research misconduct. His research focuses on the history and philosophy of macroeconomics, money, and mathematical economics. These research interests have resulted in an international reputation on the economics and philosophy of the American pragmatist and 19th century polymath, Charles Sanders Peirce. In 2023, he published The Economics of Scientific Misconduct and another co-authored book, Peirce’s Economics of Science and Science of Economics, is near completion. He has taught courses in macroeconomics, money and banking, law and economics, the philosophy and economics of science, and the economics of sports.
